Chipped 91 ECU in a 93?
So i have a 91 ECU laying around, can i get that one chipped and use it in my 93? i thought i read somewhere they were different but i cant seem to find that info now.

I thought so too, I saw a 94 run with a 91 ecu.

It's all the same 91-94 Is obd1

Just make sure it's for a 5-speed, not an automatic. Except for the tranny, all 1991-1993 are interchangeable. I don't know about 1994 -- that's when things started to change.

You can also use an auto ecu if need be, you will just throw a couple of codes but it will run the car fine.

I don't know about an auto ECU running a 5-speed but it does not work well the other way around (5-speed ECU running an automatic).

You are correct, you cannot use a 5speed ecu in an auto car. But an auto ecu in a 5speed car works just fine.

right, just a CEL.

I thought there was some difference between the 94 harness plug and the 91-93..... like 94 has the OBDII style white plug but is still OBDI?

What about the speed sensor in 93? In 91,92 it was cable driven
