Very interested to see how the header turns out... i'll be needing one in a little while (with a s14 DE flange though...)

I wanted to this for a long time. If you can get the total weight down to 2300 lbs it should be a lot of fun at the track.

i remember going through all this when i done my sr20vet build

The exhaust manifold is an OEM Sr20DE off an S14 engine, it goes 4 into 2 and then I'll have my shop fab up teh rest of the manifold so it can mate to my nice Apexi Dual N1 exhaust thats on the car now. Intake manifold will be one of their own designs, but like I said, I'm going to run the Xcessive manifold and have it maxed out as far as tuning goes, and then have them build their manifold and see the gains. The Xcessive manifold does not have internal trumpets, just rounded ports that go the manifold flange.

Since you have to fab the in-mani, have you considered ITB
like the ones on th GTIR? Is it more trouble than its worth? Just throwing an idea out there...

Yes, the issue with ITBs and texas is the engine bay heat from track driving and slow speed drifting. The temps in the engine bay will rise along with the fact that since the car is going sideways, normal ducting is useless to keep direct air flow to the ITBs. Also since the areas that the tracks are at have a lot of gravel and lose sand... I don't feel like port and polishing my cylinder walls at every event. Bottom line, if it's a drag car that sees zero debri, then yes ITBs all the way with ducting, if its going sideways not really needed. A well designed plenum can flow better than ITBs.

Numerous places the bin got torn up and I have 2 very deep dents, one at the corner where the oil pump and head meet, and the other at the large oil return port. My machine shop can fix these, but I'm just really pissed off about how much the seller did not care about how I like to spend $200... not to mention the seller is on Zilvia and has really good rep 23+. So I guess either left in the hands of ppl that were noobs or did not care, reguardless, I'm going to just charge him the price to fix the issues on the corners. The cylidner walls though are perfect, exactly what I wanted. Everything else is top notch on the block, so I will go through with the build using this block. Wish me luck! I need a set of N1 pistons and rods if anyone has some? I have yet to find anything. I'll accept used ones this time since its an experiement and first try at spinning a RWD Neo VVL for me.

That sucks. I received a tranny once, bell housing facing down, with nothing but a layer of cardboard between it and whatever it hit that cracked the bell housing. It too, came from a very reputable seller. So much so that even my wife was surprised by how shamefully it was packaged when it arrived. I guess a "drop ship" was involved and the seller had someone else provide the tranny. Thought I was paying for the reputation, turns out I could have bought it from anywhere.

In that case I figured the hired help was to blame. Problem was fixed eventually, at much expense of my own.
