Payu, has the 88mm piston ve motor been done in pr? If so how do they perform

CP is trying to get the easy way out and not give it a try for a one off setup

every 1 mm will up the compression .2

So if you have a SR16VE piston as your base and leave the dome as is and you keep going up in size you will end up with. This means you get a 92mm piston with a done in the same place like a SR16VE.

13.5 to 1 = 86mm
13.7 to 1 = 87mm
13.9 to 1 = 88mm
14.1 to 1 = 89mm
14.3 to 1 = 90mm
14.5 to 1 = 91mm
14.7 to 1 = 92mm

Please note these numbers are averages, but the concept holds true. You can call me now Cory,

I havent done any for myself just ordered a set of pistons for a friend but I really dont know the outcome but I am very confident that I will yield good numbers and it will be less expensive than a sleeved motor

That would be nice to see, cheap alternative with better than stock bottom end numbers.Thanks payu.

I'm confused.. your saying that the 90mm cp pistons 12.5 to 1 give more compression that 12.5 to 1?

No just that if the piston has the same sized dome. It will yield a higher cr because your compressing more volume into the same size combustion chamber. A 90mm 12.5:1 piston is still 12.5:1

I will make it easier for you.

A DE flat top 10 to 1 piston. All pistons below are flat top on a DE just bigger. So the only thing that has changed is the piston has gotten larger in 1 mm incraments

86mm = 10 to 1 (factory Piston)
87mm = 10.2 to 1
88mm = 10.4 to 1
89mm = 10.6 to 1
90mm = 10.8 to 1
91mm = 11 to 1
92mm = 11.2 to 1

look at it this way.

the larger (bore) the piston the smaller the dome needs to be to achieve the same cr as a smaller piston.
