Derm\MW 4-1 Stepped Header
I got a new Toy for MW\Derm, I'm not sure if he ever posted the header here if so sorry about the double post.

I'm very strapped for time lately because of personal reasons so I didn't measure length but I did get the dimensions.

41mm Primary - (Outer Diameter)
44mm Step - (Outer Diameter)

nice, would love to see dyno specs..

we should (as a forum) start taking these to a dyno on an otherwise stock SR20VE to have a baseline comparison, or something to help us figure out which designs are putting down more power..

That is only going to tell what header puts down more power on a stock 2l VE. It will only be useful to people who are running a stock engine. The header would have to be designed around each particular engine setup to make the most power.

Impressions

Dislikes:

The branch gets damn hot and sits a little close to the radiator fan, I should have wrapped or coated it before installation.

Ground Clearance, This is a normal issue with 4-1 systems I have already scrapped the front and the Megaphone on curbs.

The car is quieter with the new branch.
It seems smoother then the old branch.

Weirdly, I had to remove allot of fuel from my fuel maps to get the car to keep a stable 12.5 AFR.

I also needed to move my Switch point back up to 5000RPM from 4700RPM, If I kept the shift point at 4700RPM the car would stumble badly when the car switch and no amount of tunning seemed to help any ideas why?

I cant really comment on the performance difference yet. Sadly no before and after dyno numbers as right now my focus is on personal issues so we are going to have to see on the track when I get time.

right, that's a pretty common situation.. stock VE's are very common, right?

They are very common, but I would say about just as common as stock sr20ve as stock with N1 cams. Most people who would want a 4-1 would probably at the very least have cams.

for that reverse cone to work the way its supposed it has to be smaller diameter then the size coming in which would be your collector size. And your runner lengths should be equal length but it looks nice good job.

There has been allot of posts in SA about this Header.

Here on a Stock VE

This is a bone stock unopened ve motor , no cam timing no nothing!!!

Branch 4 into 1 with a 76mm tnt exhaust!!

4500 rpm 6nm 4hp
5000 rpm 9nm 6hp
5500 rpm 11nm 8hp
6000 rpm 6nm 6 hp
6500 rpm 13nm 12hp
6750 rpm 13nm 12 hp

care to convert the numbers to what we use in the USA? i wouldnt know where to begin to try to understand those numbers.. 146hp seems awful low and 172tq seems awful high so maybe those numbers suppose to be reversed?? im confused lol

Edit: i found a unit converter online, if unless im mistaken or its wrong, the engine made 196hp and 126tq is that right?
