N1 pistons at 10k rpm
Would N1 pistons be reliable to 10k, as they are a better design to other standard cast Nissan pistons (ie. better cooling around the pistons rings etc)?

better cooling around the piston rings has nothing to do with reving higher.

Now lighter pistons yes, The N1 piston with piston pin is lighter and that is a step in the righ direction.

The N1 pisotn has a descent long skirt and good cooling up the guts of the pistons! It has oil releifs for drainback under the oil ring as well.

It will be fine at 10,000rpm, but not for continuous use every day, it will stress and start scuffing on the bore. Might find the bore will suffer more than the pison. You will have to run oi squirters as the rod squirt hole will not be enough.

Do you think these pistons are better than CP pistons 12.5:1?

CP pistons are better

And they're light as shit!

EDIT: Well, shit may actually be heavier :P

I wish the CP pistons had a longer skirt. I have some CP pistons in the engine room and also have some brand new N1 pistons, i will try and see what the skirt difference is. but the Cp is lighter, and it is stronger. It has good pin boss design, but i havnt looked at their rings yet.

I will always prefer a piston with a longer skirt - even if it means a sacrafice in weight. I think the N1 pison has to be about 50g heavier than the CP - thats on just hand to hand judgement, i do have scales i can try on.

you sir are a legend, i was looking for the weight difference to be honest. if im going to rev that high, i need things as light as possible

also being forged i think the CPs will be stronger with a oil squirter cut out, as the cast n1s might suffer defects through machining. just a thought
