Go 3" and get one of those Dynomax VT 17957 mufflers (the one for the 4.0L and larger engines) to quiet the whole thing down to a hush but retain the good flow at high load. I wish they had those mufflers when I did my quiet exhaust.

If you've ever seen a stock s2k dyno then you'll notice they switch their cams way to late. If that's the feeling your loking for then yeah. Just switch your cams later and later until you like it I gues...

I would recommend the smaller than 4.0 muffler. I'm running it with 3" and its plenty quite when you aren't in it and the smaller than 4.0 ensures it opens up when you lay into it.... just my 2 cents...

Is anyone running one of those VT mufflers?

I always get a muffler for a small truck or something and wedge it back in there somehow. Usually Dynomax.

I always heard the "smaller" one would cause some buzzing or rattling (because the valve won't be held shut quite as hard) but that's only what people tell me. Your first hand experience says otherwise so that's good info. Have you heard any buzzing or rattling at low or medium loads?

Yes. Search around. dwike isn't the only one.

I had heard the same thing, but I have not heard any buzzing and from mine, and I drive it everyday. I can't tell you how nice it was to have that thing on there last week for my trip to Charlotte... little to no drone...

from what I've read they have addressed the buzzing noise, and I posted it in another post, but the best place to get these things is advance auto. Right at $100 and no shipping!
