Bes, make sure you go back threw the tune and make sure its on point.

Stratton.

The tune is fine. At 12.1 afr and 30 degrees peak timing it sounds like a failure somewhere else. The car was rock solid on the dyno and street.

Seeing Marsh tuned under his name there should be no issue with the tune.

If there is not a single hint of detonation that was reoccuring, like the block melting near the cylinder bore, then an injector failed, other cylinders would have lower compression numbers than factory, and you'd see pitting near the cylinder bores as well. Oh well, when you parting it out?

Jimmy even the most in demand tuners in the country make mistakes. Jeff evans comes to mind, he leaned out my boys motor and ruined a liner on his turbo h22.

Didnt imply there was one, its a gonna be a rebuilt motor, if it were me id run it quick just to be sure.

This is not entirerly true. Ive melted a piston/cracked a ring land on the dyno, no signs of detonation anywhere when the motor was taken apart.

So you reused that injector on another engine or sold it? That's what I'm trying to conclude, that his injector fouled up, or possible wiring issues with extra resistance that would equal the firing to not be as long or quick. oh FYI, AEM UEGO is not fast acting enough, tuners in my area have concluded that the innovative LC-1 is much more accurate than the AEM unit. I've installed 4 AEMs, and followed the spacing distance on the O2 sensor install, and got weird readings when dynoing.

I hear you on that.

On my own motors I will push the limits but not on someone elses. I went over the bin a few times and I am pretty sure its a dead inj. Even at low rpm\high load areas hes running 4 degrees less than I did on my 2.0.

The pistons all have a slight carbon film with no pits, hot spots or any sign whats so ever. Usually you will see the outter edge of the piston start to pit and crumble. I suggested sending them to injector.com and have them tested. They are pretty close by here in CT.
