Hmmm. Are those rings new Alex? Anyone know if they will work fine with a set of VE pistons? I mean, they are 86mm afterall haha. Still a newb at building motors but trying to build another block as a backup!

The only rings compatible with the VE pistons are the B15 RR motor...

The car is running great. I am going to try out a set of the 16ve pistons from Stratton. I want to try some more nitrous on the current setup. I will try out the high comp setup then make way for the 92x86 for spring. For now, it feels really good, just a high idle issue.

Yupp. Pretty much got a block where the previous owner spun/damaged 3 mains bearings and I believe 2 rod bearings. I was strapped for cash and we decided to slap together something quick.

We took out my crank and bearings from the motor with the damaged piston. Installed the bearings in the order they came out so they go back to the same journals. Pretty much buttoned everything up. Sprayed some copper spray on the VET headgasket and threw on the head. Torqued everything down and went back the next day to fire it up.

Thankfully everything sounds good. Have almost 2,000miles on this motor and its running like a champ. Thinking of throwing on a single fogger nitrous kit because i'm bored, lol.

Yeah just running a base map VE tune. Just the same simple setup. 3'' intake/velocity stack, ssac 2.5'', gutted 2.5'' cat, 3'' exhaust, Gspec pulley, and lightweight flywheel. Feels good. Hopefully it lasts for a little while till I figure what the hell i'm doing lol.
