VE head swap would be missing the better ve oil pump, oil squirters, and the valve reliefs. Like they said you wouldbt be able to upgrade cams or use adjustable cam gears.
VE +T - Charles told me a stock VE motor with a GT30R at 15psi has a better chance of lasting than a T25 setup at 15psi, because of the backpressure change and thus different thermal dynamic loads on the motor. VE has the valve reliefs, oil squirters, and higher flowing oil pump. I heard the VE motor doesnt remove heat as well, and should use an oil cooler. I think DET's come stock with an oil cooler. Im not a turbo freak, but the VE head flows alot better then the DE head so you would need a better flowing turbo with VE. Like if you run a t25 on a VE your restricting the exhaust flow and building back pressure making the motor run hotter. Putting more pressure on the internals, and probably making the coolant system run hotter when you get into boost.
I think you want to be read up, and make sure you do it right. A det block would give you some room to work cuz its built from the factory to be boosted.
