Just a suggestion; throw in a DE so it can turn a wheel while you contemplate.

hope to god this is a sick troll, if not gutted. Musta been one hell of a missed gear or over rev to throw a rod in a forged engine like this surely

throwing a rod through the block has nothing to do with if it is built or not.... rods don't come out of sleeves they come out of the crankcase.

- Pulling the motor and putting it on a stand sounds like a good plan while you park the shell at your spot. Just enjoy the low mileage SE-R you picked up along with finishing up school and your new fiance. Maybe try not to hang out at 'the spot' to much, as I know it will make you feel 'geeked' to get the NXbeast back on the road.

This does suck, kinda followed a little bit of the progress, was hoping for the best. Oiling could've played a factor in it, improper bearing clearances, or even not properly torqued rod bolts also. Not putting the blame on anyone, just observing what could've caused this.

random thought: Im loving the headstuds I got from you guys.

what?

who mentioned the sleeves?!

i was more gettin at the idea if it wasn't oil starvation that caused it it would be one monumental over rev to throw a forged rod with uprated bolts etc

benito we are on the same page.

i thought about it for a lil bit. talked to a couple of people.

as much as i want to do it im going to say ill accomplish this goal one day, but just not today.

stock ve and ill throw all my goodies on it, run a smaller header, run the v3 cams and s&r, up in the air as far as running the intake manifold and the big q45 throttle body (anybody care to chime in on a q45 tb on a stock ve feel free). run it on 93 oct tune it on my aem and enjoy the car. enjoy the car and drive the car for what it is. itll still be quick and fun.

as of right now im not concerned with making the most whp, having the baddest n/a ve out there. im concerned with driving the car and having my hand on the steering wheel and the t-tops off.

Sad thing is, your "stock VE with goodies" would probably eat mine for breakfast!

Honestly though, good choice on waiting. I think so anyway. Too often people get so involved in their endeavours, no matter what they are, that they get blinded by the finish line and because of this..."things just happen"! Not only this, but the finish line becomes almost the only goal and you forget to enjoy the journey. Building a car is supposed to be an awesome experience. When this experience stops being fun, that in itself is telling enough!

I need to step away from things from time to time and without out a doubt I gain perspective every time!

Yup, this will be best for right now.

Never leaving the game, just no longer want to be at the for front.

There's a reason it's called 'The Bleeding Edge'. You've got other things to do with your life Strat. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Come back when you've got the time & resources.
