Ill post pics tomorrow. Piston number 2 is fucked, and some off the combustion chamber needs to be smoothed out, not the actual cc but the head floor where the 92mm part not the 86mm part.

I know what happened, talking to a few guys, and my dad talking to the guy who ported the head out confirmed my beliefs. hes pretty much an absolute authority in my eyes. Ill stop by his shop with my head to get his opinion later in the week.

The motor leaned out, burt off all the tips on the spark plugs #8s by the way. Number two tip blew off but stayed intact and flew around the cyclinder, then got caught in bewteen the valve and possibly the guid and kept it stuck open. i hope I find the plug tip in the head. The others either burt up causing no damage (so far) or managed to exit the motor. Ill inspect all valves and seats etc etc.

The #2 wall looks fine but ill have my machine shop check it out.

Im really at a lose for words guys. only thing I can say is me and jun will tear it apart and what needs to be fixed will. New head gasket, new piston have been ordered. The motor parts will be taken, out, cleaned and reinspected. Hopefully have her back up and running in a months time. The longest wait will be cp who says it will be three weeks.

I tried, now its time to think weither or not im gonna make the convention. I now need to buy a new daily cause my truck had a random unpreventable self destruction and the fall semester starts soon and I have to pay my tuition. Also have a huge thing to do the end of aug wich ill post up whem that goes down.

That sucks man, crap happens, it sucks to see that much into the motor go to waste. Im sure you will get it figured out. Just keep with it and fix whatever went wrong so it doesnt happen again. Problems like that suck bigtime. I definitely know the feeling. When you think you have all your ducks in a row and something still goes wrong. Its a bad feeling for sure. Just keep with it man.

you can clearly see it wasnt detonation that caused it, all the other cyclinders are spot less.

detonation would have been on the head of the piston and the cc itself, you can see it was the spark plug tip and the only place that was close enough to cause damage is the old 92mm floor of the head and the outer most part of the piston.

Did you get any full pulls in before this happened or was that the first full wot pull through the powerband?

How do you lose spark plug tips without detonation?

It gets hot enough to melt things. Tips of the plugs are usually the first to go as they are the softest metal. You can melt the plugs with heat but its more likely to break them from detonation. There could have been detonation just not an extended period of it that caused them to break. If it was just a short time period of it you wont even notice any pitting. Its exended periods of detonation or very hard detonation that begins to form pitting.
