i never really get the 4cw unstable stuff, i mean nissan had the choice of both cranks for the higher revving, more powerful ve over the de and chose the 4cw

ok nissan weren't intending to rev to 9k+ with 200whp+ but still, it's all relative

ve all the way though OP

Yeah a de is not worth it. i hear ppl try to say the a stock ve is simmilar to a cammed de.. well how many cammed des can go mid 13s on slicks. And stock ves do 180-190whp, des need to try very very hard to see those numbers.. And then ves can go high 12s all stock w cams and bolt ons.. I've done it.

Don't bother with the de. Id just get a full ve and be done.

when i 1st went ve i was having issues with the cams switching (bad signal), so basically it was running on the small lobes only, for a while. on that first test drive i remember it "feeling" ABOUT like the de with S3 cams. alas, sometime later on the dynojet, my first impression was proven as fairly accurate.

btw, DE stands for Dinosaur Extinct!

always hear that sr20de has better torque curve than the sr20ve etc. or is it that sr20de (mod for mod) have better power band than sr20ve? so a 190whp sr20 de will have better torque and power curve than a 185whp sr20ve

can someone please clear this up?

i am yet to prove this

peace

VE vs. DE flame again? I just said, if 10:1 DE is in good condition, then with cams, ecu, header, intake its very similar to stock cammed VE with ecu, header, intake. I didnt said what is faster...

Hmm... not to sound like Swagz but my DE feels really fast and when I was untuned I was running dead even with Bgreen's old VE'd 200SX (unsure of mods). Just ask Bgreen or Morgans432... hell Alex has it on video. I also beat up on SR20Collector's VE'd NX multiple times (he was VE and SSAC only) and I was fully bolted. Both of those races I was on a stock computer and only taking it to the limiter in each gear at 7500. I was fully bolted with the exception of pulleys and IMS. I now have pulleys and a tune and the bish moves out hard for a daily driver.

I am working on a little project this winter with SR20GTI-R and let's just say it should keep VE's on there toes at the next convention .

The DE is a stout motor and is not exctinct sure mod for mod a VE will make more power but the DE shouldn't be sent to the scrap pile just yet.

damn right. Im happy with my boosted de thank you very much.

And to reiterate what has already been said and prob 20 other people will say, get a full sr20ve motor. Cost is almost the same and you'll make money back selling the DE. If I actually had money right now, I'd be asking to buy your cams lol.
