Thread: Budget ve build

I was mainly thinking about the weight and rotating mass.. My thought was less moving weight (pistons and rods)faster rev. Possibly more power

TJ. Yeah thats what a real car is. A nice motor with a/c and p/s.
Do the build and keep a nitrous kit around so you can beat the guys without a/c and p/s and have your girl riding in the summertime without getting swampass. lol Looks like a great build.

Thats exactly right. Now to me a car is useless with out a/c and p/s.

Now that I've changed my mind 1000 times on this build.. These are my thoughts

Det block (girdle and squirters)
Ve head (ported and polished)
Ve rods
Sr16 pistons
N1 cams or kelfords (depends on how much $$ I have)
Valve springs and retainers
Ported intake manifold and tb
Ve oil pump
8cw crank

Personally id run no girdle and 4crw... the girdle and heavier crank wil cost you power

Would like to get around 220 whp. But I know the girdle and crank will hold me back..

Wouldn't the 8crw crank be better for higher revs?

Sounds to me like your build is gonna be a daily. Why not just re-ring and bearing that det. Use the det rods(for n20) when you want to make more power. With the pistons and other work you should make 210whp which is great for a daily and when you want to get nasty open the bottle.
