Rods 289
Bearings 140
Headgasket 100
Main studs 100
Head studs 140
Plus header..

Use OEM main studs/head studs. That should only come to about $100 total.

I have a set of ve rods and pistons and det rods
Should I use the ve rods or det rods?

- DET rods with OEM main/head studs.

head bolts 3.38 x 10 = 33.80
main cap bolts 3.90 x 10 = 39.00

Ok so..

Det rods
Ve head
Stock ve pistons
Oem head/main bolts
Kelford cams
Good header
Port and polished head
Intake manifold
Throttle body
GOOD TUNE

Does that sound about right?

Use the VE rods.

I wouldn't waste time using kelfords on stock pistons.

Buy some N1's and be done.

Tune tune tune tune tune tune.
