Nope, i mean full standalone. The realtime is great if your keeping to the configuration of the engine (such as use of a maf, distributor and so on) There are other ways to get more spark and still use wires. Again you could use a CDI box to enhance your existing single coils output by a lot and in turn should provide a hotter spark than even your COP's can. Its all depending on what your going for.

I'm bumping this because I'm most likely wiring in my 20V CAS this weekend and surprisingly enough the diagram on the first page has the information I need.
I will also be wiring in the 20V/VET/S15 COP very soon and obviously this is the thread I need for that.

Ben to make this simple I got a s15 coil harness from gregv . Was very cheap and works with 20v/vet coils. You can use s14 sub harness 2 but 1 wire needs to be moved .if u uses the s13/14 the wire loop doesn't work for timing s15 works great. To mate this with the AEM side I used a plug off a v6 maximal so I can remove the sub harness. As for the cas I don't know becaue I used the maxworks cas kit

Thanks man. My coils came with pig-tails from Andreas, so I'm just going to use those. This step needs to take place before I finalize the engine harness so I'm getting right to it.

Bumping this for my own needs. If all goes well I'll be wiring in my 20V coils today.

Okay, Ashton says you check ignition timing on the ground wire. The OEM diagram says the loop is on the power wire. I've not had much luck with with the power wire in the past. I've not had much luck with the signal wire either. I never tried the ground wire because in the past that was in the cabin (only had 2-wire COP).

Soooo, I think I'm going to leave all three wires loose for now and then do some testing to find out which one (if any) of the wires gives comparable information on a typical timing light. I'll use the timing information gathered after the coil for comparison and put this guess-work out to pasture once and for all. (I assume you went through all this on the F20C AE86 Ashton?)

on my s15 subharness there are 2 wires that are looped out and i have to use both to get a timing light to work. so maybe its a case of having to use multiple wires off the number one coil.

Way to make things even more complicated!
Can you take a picture of that for me, showing the plug too? Or can you tell me what color the wires are that get looped, and what color the wire is that isn't looped? Or maybe tell me which position on the plug those two wires are (left, middle, right looking at them from above)?
