Mine has been like that since 05' no problems at all. ON at 5100-5300 and OFF at 8300-8400 No rev limiter, stock valvetrain & regular SR16 cams

I switch mine at 4,800 both. Stock Ve,and 2.5 exhaust and 2.5 secondary header.
