VE with stock cams= good daily
I just got my VE swap done and I just wanted to say for a daily driver it is perfect. I have all the bolt-ons. Fuji Header, 3in VRS exhaust. It is the same as the old motor that ate the butterfly screw. I just didnt swap the N1s and the thermoblocks.

I drove it to work to day. I have to admit the power down low is alot better.
For a daily driver I think it is perfect. I will keep the N1s and the other set of custom cams I have but I think the stock cam setup is the best for a daily car. I had thoughts on building a big motor with one of my spare motors but after a day of driving and thought it isnt logical at all.

If I want more power I will go to a better chassis. I must say some of you guys that are going crazy buying parts should stop... Swap the motor in with the basic bolt-ons and ride for a littler while. I just had to post this when I got home.

Yeah but what fun is that? I know I would want a pump gas 280whp all motor car. Mmm.

If a stock motor is enough for you then good for you.. but to me my car has to get quicker every years. What's the fun of going to the track if your not making improvments...

I've got SR16 cams in my daily.. loads of fun. When it's not a daily anymore, then I'll go with N1s and a full 3" exhaust, (flywheel next time I do a clutch job as well) but for now, it put down pretty nice power for being a simple setup.. care to sell those N1s?

That is true, I just have absolutely no access to any race tracks around here and I also don't have the money to build an all around race car. So I do it the cheap way and go straight lol.

I guess that was just my way of explaining how you start of being happy with a high 13 sec ve and you end up trying to make 300whp and run low 11s

That is exactly right. Cory I love your build and think it is amazing.
But for a car you drive everyday I like this thing.
My turbo car has over 400whp and it is kinda useless. I mean i really think around 200whp is great for a daily.

Here is what it has now.

Fujitsubo Header
JWT ECU
3in exhaust
Maxima MAF
JWT pop
Clutchnet flywheel and clutch kit
AGXs/Hyperco Gen 2
Progress Front and rear bar
NX brakes
NX rad
And A/C lol
N1s and a custom grind on the shelf

Right now I love it.

Really you're ok with 3inch exhaust? I'd think that wouldn't be soo good for a daily. It's very very loud when you are NA. My old 94 was rocking the 3 inch pipe with the DE for years. I'm sure I lost some hearing ability because of it. I couldn't run it without the silencer for more then ten minutes it just became a nuisance.
