Try uploading the bin again first (burning the chip again), then try a different chip. Dont go changing your ECU right away.

My realtime does this whenever something bitchy happens with the battery voltage, I just reload the bin and up and running normally again.

You might have your chips backwards. The notch on the chips should be facing the little arm that locks them in place.

When i had corrupt chips fans came on immediately, car idled at 1700rpms, and wouldnt rev past 3000rpms.

The problem is the ecu reading the bin file as I described before. The typical signs are the fans turn on right away and car doesn't run right (ie high idle). I have never seen it go into limp mode with this issue. I have had it happen because of a bad bin file before and bad ecu. I know jer_760 has had it happen due to a corrupt upload of a good bin and other times as well due to bad chips, etc. It isn't an unheard of issue.

Yessir, happens quite often. I have personally had a basic and two realtime ecu's the past 5 years or so. Every one of them has done this at some point. Listen to these guys, reburn your chips, then make sure they are seated properly, then try another ecu.

Any updates on this CvKid? We are having the same problem with my friend's VE now. It acts like it is in limp mode (pig rich, high idle, fans on), but we can also rev past 3 grand. We are using a VE ECU and wire harness, and spliced in the B13 distributor because the VE dizzy it came with was broken.

It tries to run, but at idle cylinders 2 & 3 don't get any spark, if we rev it up ncyl 2 will start to get spark, but cyl 3 is completely dead. We have tried changing out the cam sensor on the B13 dizzy, no idea what else it could be. Thinking it is the wiring or the ECU we got is bad.

Don't mean to thread jack, but your thread is the closest I've seen that matches our issues. Let us know if you find out your problem is ECU related or something else.

If the chip is turned the right way, dont try and turn it the other way. The notch on the chip is supposed to face the lever that releases them from the board, like was said earlier.

We got our issue solves tonight! It actually turns out that our VE ECU was fried. So now we are back to DE, have to wait for a MSD switch to get here to see what the VVL is like...
