Calum or Haltech?
What are your opinions on the two?

Is the Calum sufficient for 200+whp n/a ve or is the complexity of a haltech need???

Calum ftw.

Not only will it work, he's a forum vendor/supporter, so I would choose him, hands down. Then again, I only have one of his ECU's so maybe I'm biased?

if you can afford to go full standalone then do it. Otherwise the calum is def the way to go.

yes.. if you can afford it

and by the way.. you need to ask yourself..
what you want from the ECU itself.
if you just want a basic ECU rev cut removed some decent power.. Calum is the way

if you asking more.. want to add this that able to control this that so on
standalone is your answer
and dont be conned by your vendor as well

i have seen one Supra with Stock Standard 2JZ
fitted with Motec M800 ECU
with all function enable include Flybywire Enable, VTEC Enable
get what i mean here ?

stand alone is completely superior to all methods of chipped or tuned ecu period, they provide things in tuning that are far more superior to the chipped and tuned ecu's

They are in two totally different catagories. Standalone is FAR superior to a Calum ECU. But for 200WHP, a standalone is way overkill. Just get a Calum.

Save your money and get a calum. If you want to clean things up a bit get a SAFC. Now if you plan on changing your set up alot then a standalone may be in order and what I mean by changing does not mean a header swap. You feel me?

not VE'd or anything, but I just got my calum basic for my simple T25 set up, put my car IMMEDIATELY on the dyno and had an afr of 16:1 all the way across. If you do go calum, be sure to make sure it's safe before you go beating the hell out of it.

This should be done with any car. Tuning is so damn important.

id go with a haltech if the money was not an issue. the new software that haltech has is very keen. also, they are making pnp harnessess for a lot of cars now so there isnt a need rewire the whole thing.
