I know I never used an oil filter ending with the letter C when I used OEM filters.

Bad ass filters, imho. I feel a great weight difference when I changed them and that alone lets me know it is working. That and my oil became smoother (yes, I play with my oil like a child when I change it) when I would rub it between fingers. I ran the regular Nissan OEM filter for the lifetime of me owning the car.

The color never changed but I did not expect it to. I paid $5 a pop from Amazon when they had a good deal. I dunno what they cost now. I will be purchasing some in the next two months.

^^^ this filter kicks serious butt. I've used it for the last year and to me it's the best one for my VE. I'll never use the Nissan OEM filter again after hearing about where the newer ones were made.

Always ran the gold purolator filters from Advance, good shit. I would also check your pcv, if that shit's clogged. I always ran mines open to the atmosphere and cap off the intake pipe lines. You want to see the extreme look at the Honda guys with 4 -10an lines on their VC's lol.

edit: Re-reading this, it is hard to blow past the oil filter gasket... What weight oil? Remember the VE pumps put out way more pressure than the DE pumps. Worse comes to worse you can soften the oil bypass spring in the pump housing if it really is your issue. I just hope you are running a fairly common oil like 5-30 to 10-40 ish.

Past (last year)
I ran a DE about a week prior to the incident. I decided that I wanted fresh oil in my car. At the same time I did a front pad replacement. Went to Oreilly's return some stuff not needed and headed out to the access road of the freeway to run the car a little and to bed the new pads for my next track event. And presto new filter with blown seal within maybe 10-15 miles of it being on my car. All I really thought it was just a flukey bad filter.

Present (last month)
This was the second day of the DE event on the oil filter after the first run of the second day is when I noticed my problem (good thing I was not on the track!! ) After my first incident of blowing the oil filter seal I always carried a new filter in my car, just in case. So I pulled the bad filter off and installed the new one, finished out the day running the remaing 3 sessions with no problems at all. Infact the same oil filter is on the car now running around on it. Go figure
