MPG should be slightly better overall in mixed normal driving. That was my experience with vvl.

If you are smart and do a little pulse coasting and cruise control you can do significantly better without being an annoying hypermiler or going 45mph.

Do you mean KPG, because 30MPG is 48KPG.

Just asking,

The standard 200SX SER which is 23/31 mpg City/Highway which is more aerodynamic than a N14/N15. So now you are telling me that you picked up 55% better fuel economy over a standard car.

You are right. I made my calculation wrong.

Best ive did was 5.9l / 100km, which is ~40mpg.

jagy, do you know what percent of ethanol is in your fuel? I know in the US, I see "up to 10% ethanol" advertised.

Ive just done a round trip with my Autech.

got 715km's from a full tank of fuel, around 444 miles. worked out around 41mpg

I brimmed the tank set off, and brimmed the tank again at the same pump once I got back.

put in 49.7Litres of fuel.

this is 90% highway driving mixed with some thrashing through countryside

Driving a B/N series stock sr20de powered car carefully on the highway around 55-60MPH will net you 35-40mpg. Going higher than 60mph will start to increase consumption drastically because of the geometrically progressing air resistance after 60mpg (100km/h). Lowports in good condition would be more economical than highports, but may be equal to VEs.

So if I go VE I can expect a slight diff in fuel consumption but not much as fas as I understood, I know it's all about how much time do you spend in the high lobes zone.

I'm just trying to find reasons to swap my flawless lowport

i just got 200mpg on this last tank.. i know my o2 sensors bad an goes rich at idle.. but during driving the afr's are dead on..

i spend ALOT of time on the high lobes .. shit prolly over 1/4 of that tank was used for fine tuning my afr's again lol.

i've gone 300 miles on 3/4 of a tank.. had to refill at 1/4 tank (next gas station was to far to chance it lol) but if i hadnt filled up then i could have prolly gone 380+ miles on that tank.. that was all hwy with only a LITTLE high lobe action an that was at 70-80mph.

I get 19.5 MPG on my VE without even hitting VVL.
