Gas mileage
For those who are runing VE's, did your MPG went up or down comparing to the DE?

I think that fuel consumption should decrease but how much?

I usually get 25MPG in the DE, what should I expect if I go VE?

I would imagine that it depends on how much time you spend in the large cams. If you spend a lot, I would reasonably expect my mileage to drop lower since it is way more aggressive.

Comparing cams is the largest factor. I would imagine that some big DE cams would have less mileage than smaller aftermarket cams. i.e. JWT C3 cams compared to S3 cams. C3's should get less mileage, esp. if you spend some time revving out the engine.

Comparing stock DE cams to stock VE (low lift and duration), I guess the mileage would be a tiny bit smaller.

All of that above is theory. I dont own one so fuck me, right? :P

I got better gas mileage with VE. Best i got was 36mpg in my p10VE on a trip from CA to AZ. Usually around 24-26 around town in the DE.

18-24 mpg city highway tuned to about 198whp though. that's with 10% ethanol so drop 10-20% off your mpg. Still I was in the mid 30's on the DE no ethanol.

26-28 city

32-34 Highway

all depends on how I drive regular or spirited.

I made 40mpg on trip with stock DE. At normal daily driving im making 40mpg without any problem. With VE it will be even better imo.

And you have different fuel than we do in the USA.

Ethanol sucks.

48 MPG out of a DE, was that going down hill or drafting off of another car.

Do you mean KPG, because 30MPG is 48KPG.

Just asking,

The standard 200SX SER which is 23/31 mpg City/Highway which is more aerodynamic than a N14/N15. So now you are telling me that you picked up 55% better fuel economy over a standard car.
