As said above, you need to dyno, a gtech, a buddy that pulls a bumper off you or something like that to monitor changes in power. the dyno being the more controlled of them.

Also, if you dont ever reach your last TP columns why have them? In fact, why have the last four TP columns with the same value and 7200 and 8000 rpm with the same value? Your map is effectively 15 x 13 instead of 16 x 16.

If you were boosting, you may extend beyond in TP usable range just in case the wastegate sticks open or turbo super spikes and fill the last TP column with safe timing values. Like you have it now, you may as well end the TP scale at 74 and the rpm at 7200 and perhaps redistribute these points lower in the scale to give you better resolution.

My engine only runs 29 degrees!

I have a stock compression VE and between 29, 32 and 35 timing up top made best power with 32, and 35 still made more power than 29.

The only way its on a Dyno hands down there its no way you are going to feel the increase in hp or the decrease on your butt dyno also you dont know if you are adding too much timing..

All I can tell you its tha i have to agree with some peeps here I think you can change the 8000 cels to a total advance of 35deg without issues since at 8000 you are past peak hp but it will affet your peak since you are going to have it between 7200-8000.

The Dyno will tell you where its your peak torque and how far you can add timing on that zone because it has to be lower than at peak hp and it tells you if you are activating the cams too early or too late and that will affect your peak torque and as everybody says every engine and setup its different....

Dont just copy, also watch what cells your ECU uses when off and on vvl. This way you can see if those scales suit you or you can remap the TP scales yourself, if you feel like that.

Also, be careful if you just changed the scales and left the values the same, you may have the timing you had for 44 TP now at 72 TP or something potentially harmful like that...

wow 35 degrees is a hell of a lot of timing!

what sort of air fuel ratios can you guys maintain 35 without detonation.
