I'm interested in this header and the power it could make. Too much bs in this thread if you ask me.

Btw Mazworx thanks for making it to fit BOTH motors.

The only header that would clear the Xmember would be a SSauto/hotshot 4-2-1(budget header don't clear either you will bash that one too). If you are in the pursuit of power you make small sacrifices to get them. If u don't give a shit then why even bother looking at the header and spending the extra 5sec of your life to make a comment on it?

I'm sorry if I turned Mazworxs' thread into a mess but it's amazing to me how low that Protech sits. My P11 is pretty damn low, lower that most of you B14/13 guys on this forum and I can guarantee you that if that header was on my car, it'd be an inch off the ground if not scraping. B14/13s have a really low chassis so unless you're on some not so low springs, that thing is probably going to be more of a hassle than a help. I WILL criticize the budget header because that sits pretty low as well but compared to the Protech, well there is no comparison. I don't know what the point of me writing this is but I'm just blown away by how un-driveable that must be to a low car. If the Mazworx header can be designed to tuck nicely above the crossmember like Charles' higher dollar header, I'm sure they'd get a lot more powerseakers choosing their header. Already they are doing great stuff for the SR community, if they made a really great fitting header, that would be the icing on the cake.

You did not turn this thread into a mess, this is discussion of the truth. I completely agree with you, 100%. Watch out and put your flame suit on, it is getting hot in here!

My car is lowered with Coil Overs, How low? too low for me but not dangerously low as to where if I bash my oil pan I could blow my motor from starvation.

Some of you don't understand that to get a 4-1 header on a fwd SR20 to fit like the SSauto is almost impossible to do. You just can't get your cake and eat it too unless your going to fork out alot of money which I don't see more than maybe 4 people on this forum maybe doing. I have seen the Charles 4-1 header bashed up. It sits below the crossmember too like the budget header does. A 4-1 header isn't for everyone just a few looking for more power that's all.

Agreed.

This is NOT the For Sale section, nor a Vendor Section thread.

This thread is in the Open Forum. VVhere discussion is encouraged and honest INPUT is expected.

Some input may be praise, some input may be constructive criticism.

If ANYONE posts ANYTHING in any Open Section of the Forum, they should EXPECT both sides, interest, opinions, information, and feedback. That is how a damn forum operates. Period.

I read just about every thread in the VE Section.

I'm going (big block) VE when my DE gets replaced.

Thank you sir, for pointing out VVHOM is the Target Audience for this header. I appreciate your expertise and opinion. Your post just helped me to understand.

This header is NOT for everyone. I want a reasonably fast street daily-driven vehicle. I will not be buying this header or any header that hangs so low as to be damaged during Daily Driving. I have NEVER "babied" my ride or changed my normal driving habits to accomodate a "modification" nor do I intend to.

There are apparently plenty of other folks that do not mind (some) sacrifices in daily-drivability in the search for more power. VVhich is cool with me, just not the direction I have chosen for my vehicle.

Being mechanically challenged, I always look at new parts, from any Vendor, and try to figure out if I am the "intended market" or not. Sometimes I cannot tell. Ie. This header, custom lower control arms, bump-steer kits, etc...etc....

Open, honest, intelligent discussion answers my concerns about any given "new part" that crops up. "Is this part for me" is what I want to know.

The Mazworks "big block gasket"? That has my name written all over it.

The Mazworks header? I don't think so based on this discussion in this thread.

That ain't a criticism, nor any slight to Mazworks. It is honestly looking at the pros & cons of the "new part", and making an informed decision. Excluding myself based on the gains vs. sacrifices.

Here are some pictures of my header. This is before I shortened it up and built the new collector for it. But take a look at these pictures and you will see, the header sits as high as possible. It actually touches the bottom of the upper oil pan. But as you can see, there is just no room.

^that's actually a decent height for a 4-1. VERY nice. LOW but probably higher than most 4-1s.
