Yah that's pretty clever. Adds a little cowl induction (ram air) to the mix.

Wait, nevermind I wasn't following the air path properly. It's a cool way to get the trumpet look and filtered cold air though.

I CBF taking a photo of just the box so here's a photo of mine that was already on the net. Note it is on a DE at the moment but shortly it will be plumbed to go into ITB's which will sit out like a VE's plenum. If you want more detailed pics of it I can take some over the weekend.

This is one I did for my S14 out of fibreglass u can see how i did the lid with threaded grommets and alan keys from your local engineering shop, use foam tape on the underside of the lid and the underside of the box to stop rattles

How about relocating the air filter to inside the fender, but up high so no rain gets near it. Id have to go outside and actually look at my sentra to see if it would work.

As a basic rule of thumb; if you are looking for more torque then a longer intake length between the filter and throttle body will usually give you more, a Short length in retrospec will yield a higher horsepower number. The placement of the AFM is also important. closer to the filter will usually lean a mixture out and closer to the throttle body will richen the mixture. Its all based on the velocity of the air hitting the AFM and the intake plentum and into the valves for the idea of a higher torque number. Short is based on the idea of volume. Again this is not really exact science but it gets you started.
Hence why the track car posted above had a longer intake for more torque out of the corners.

Did a revamp on my box and filter positing is very important, I noticed a huge diffirence

My other one was closer to the lid , smack bang in the middle seams best and facing down a bit if possible
