Meanwhile, just put the VE head on the RR motor and boost it
LoL..
I only bought the RR motor because it came attached to the B15 LSD transmission that I wanted.. I got both for $600 from a friend who was going to sell them both for $300.. I told him I couldn't take advantage and let him know the LSD trans was worth 8 or 900 by itself.. and he decided to still cut me a deal for being honest..
So my heart is not with the RR, and I thought that I read that a VE head with huge cams (large Kelfords for example) don't work as well with flat-top pistons such as those found in DE/RR... a piston head with knotches for the valves is a safer bet.. but shit, I haven't studied it like I were writing a paper, just skimmed over a few threads here and there while working -> no time to really devote studying it..
part of me wants N/A responsiveness and reliability - with power. another part of me wants gobs of power.. so you'd think a 2.3 or 2.4L VE build would be in the works?? well I like the lopey idle of a heavily cammed NA motor.. so that has me back looking at the RR bottom end with lowport head, SR16 pistons, S4 or S5 cams (maybe BC3??), ASP header, lightened flywheel etc.... but that isn't GOBS of power - that's maybe 180 to the wheels if I do extensive tuning..
so that puts me back looking at going turbo.. f*ck I don't know what I want....
