Sr20ve motor-couple of questions
Just a couple of questions

1) How reliable are they?
2) What should I look for when purchasing one?
3) What things do you recommend changing immediately?

They came stock in a variety of Nissan vehicles from the factory. Under full warranty.

As did your SR20DE.

In stock form, there should be no real significant difference in the MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) between the two motors.

The VE is dead nuts reliable. Can be properly boosted or "big bored" as well.

Mechanically, I'll let someone else more astute answer.

I'd look for a (company/individual) Seller with an impeccable reputation on this forum. A guy that can and will help you with any concerns or issues, before, during and after the sale. There are certainly others that are qualified as well, but you could do no better than to deal with Greg V (G-spec, Forum Vendor G Spec Performance) out in Cali, or Andreas Miko in Florida.

You can Search that one out easily enough.

I'll even help you to Search. Just to point you in the right direction.

Also read every Sticky in this VVL Section.

And make sure you post in the correct section. I got you "moved" here by a Mod.
