Yup, two ostrich emulators. If you plan on getting your own basic board definately het zif sockets! The chips are a pita to safely remove without causing any damage to the board without them. I definately recommend on getting tunercode, it has some trick stuff. Yup obd1.

I picked up an obd2 calum basic that i havent installed yet. Need to get a chip burned for it before I can install it. I figure some of those options arent available on obd2 stuff yet? Where can I get more info?

My friend helped calum with some boards before and was telling me about some of the cool stuff Dave could do. My next motor I plan to rev pretty high, so being able to make changes past 8000rpms is nice.

OBD1 and obd2 use the same chips, burners, sockets etc..

Only major differences that I know is the board which you already have, and the hex address when you burn your chips. All the info is in the calum section Thread is How To Burn Your Own Chips IIRC. All you really got to do is choose an approprite bin for your setup, load it it to your burner, program your chips and voila!

Yea, i dont have a moates burner so im gonna wait on a friend who is supposed to pick one up. I have another friend with a Calum realtime V2 ecu that we were planning on street tuning with his real time then burning the bin to a chip for my basic. He was also telling me to just find a burnable board before I found my calum basic, and i would be able to do the same thing.

Nobody is forcing you to tune your own car.

I myself paid over $600 for a JWT ECU with just the P.O.P. Performance Package, only to have it re-tuned twice for cams, Mafs, etc for another $200+ and a hell of a lot of weeks each time. The wait and price sucked but the ECU didnt.

Moment I could get my hands on a Calum RT, I got it, started reading ECU tuning shiet on the internet and doing my own tune.

and you dont need to buy the software and tune it yourself, go to a shop that deals with nistune, and spend a little money and you will get a result much better than a generic JWT tune.

Loved the nistune on my old VE powered pulsar when I had it.
