all in all, looks pretty even out price wise which i didnt expect. now i just have to think about what exactly i want to do. go with a ve thats more reliable or a det that has more potential to upgrade. only downfall i see about a ve is that im sure in the future im going to want more power and the ve is limited until a certain point staying completely na and going turbo on a ve requires a bit of internal building to build good power and compression is high. but a det on the other hand, gives me room to upgrade in a way a ve cant. ve power is just amazing though too, hearing that vvl pop haha. such a hard decision to make.

If you want something to really tune a car, get a Power FC or some other real standalone. Doing that cheap Nistune shit isn't going to cut it.

Seriously. Are you kidding?

I do not like nistune at all. If my knock sensor decides to pull my timing (like mine has done to my JWT ECU), nistune ecu will not stop it. I would have to physically alter or remove my knock sensor.

I like JWT for plug and play. I do not like sitting there and tuning my car but if I did, I would get a full standalone.

If you have a standalone, that knock sensor can piss off. Sorry to rain on the giant "<3 Nistune" parade. It is just not MY cup of tea. That is all my personal preference and findings with all the different options out there. I did not even like Calum's ECU's and they are not even made anymore, what a surprise.

Getting a nistune ecu vs a JWT ECU will not get you from a 13 second car to a 12 second car that is for damn sure.

what you talking about? JWT, Calum, Nistune... its all same style ECU, basically all are same.. its all about .bin in the ECU.

I know, I do not like messing around with the ECU at all. I do not like messing with it. It serves almost no purpose since our cars have been exploited almost fully. Especially my dinky setup.

That is how they are not the same, Nistune and Calum are open ended and JWT is closed.

That's a whole new ball game. Keep in mind that you can boost a stock VE, it's been done before and makes decent power. They are just as strong as the RR DE's but with a better head and higher compression. It all comes down to a really good tune.

I'm hoping to go to Baytown friday night, I'll post my results so you can get a better idea.

WOW... thats some pretty ignorant shit right there.. you obviously have no clue an from what it looks like you dont even want a clue..

im not bashin jwt cause like others said its great out of the box, however a more serious tuner that is always upgrading or changin their setup nistune would save money an time in the long run..

i can understand if you dont wanna learn or just dont have the time or whatever, but putting down nistune because of it.. thats just wrong, imagine all the people who may read what you said an decide that nistune sucks just cause of what you said.. when really you have NO fucking clue!

you have no clue what your talkin about so you shouldnt be posting on the subject.. also, you dont even have a VE.. DO YOU? so what the hell are you doin in the vvl section answering questions??

there are people all accross the world tuning all kinds of cars with nistune.. like skylines, 300zx's, silvias ect ect ect.. so if its good enough for them, im sure its good enough for our sentras..

I cant understand how difficult is to check a box to disable the knock sensor and be done with unwanted timing retard.

And true, JWT is great if you dont care about tuning yourself.
