Yes they do but you have to run stiffer valvesprings... Mine pulls good with them.

Well the Kelfords Ve cams list for $900 so if JWT would do a set from around $750 and they are rebaged Kelfords than that seems like a deal to me (unless of course street price for Kelfords is much less than their $900 MRSP).

but doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a VE head?

Please tell me where you had a problem with this cam shaft.

my S3's were fine. no problems at all 'cept a little pitting later in their life. i bought those new, just before the S4's were released
then ~late 03-early 04, while mike k. was still heavily involved pushing jwt to develop new products for the se-r's, the S5's were released. these were touted/pushed as the biggest cams available for the de with the stock valve train. so, of course, i HAD to have them. and the "big cam" ecu program to replace the s3/s4 cam program on my jwt ecu.
welp, the stock valve train lasted ~5k miles before a spring broke (at very low rpm) causing catastrophic damage.
i'm not the only one to have problems with the S5's. i recall a canadian with similar issues.
it's all on the old forum for anyone wanting to refresh their memory
suppose i could look for the positive in this story...i replaced the toasted de for a VE i bought from you spring '05

so the problem with the cam, was really a problem with them thinking it didn't require stiffer valve springs....

I think if I ever even go with S4's I'll put in stiffer springs..

Depends on what you get out of it. Still VVL related, still a controversial topic. 4-5 years later... Hell even I talked to Ben at JWT about VE cams 2 years ago and he said basically the same thing that the OP said. N1s are fairly cheap and the Kelford 184Cv2s seem to be working out well. Not sure what or if JWT wants to deal with the VE cam issue any more but it still pops up every now and then, doesn't it?

I talked to Clark last week, and they have no timeline for getting a set of VE cams out.
