Best VVL sparkplug?
Hey guys,

Im doing a tuneup on the car and im wondering what is the best spark plug for the VVL (NGK of course). I see the copper ones on Gspec's site, but id rather use platinum tipped NGK's, I just dont know which range would be the best for the VVL motor or if the regular NGK's for the SR20 would be just fine (which im sure they are) but I see the VVL ones are Heat Range 6 and the non VVL are Heat Range 5.

Input welcome, thanks!

Stick with the bkr6e's. You can get the copper ngk's at any autoparts store.

From searching around on the other site last summer, I figured out that the NGK BKR6E-N or BKR6E-N-11 plugs are the ones to go to.

They have been running with no issue whatsoever/misfire on my VE since last July. I beleive these are the plugs that come with the motor as well. I know my VE was sporting them when I got it (I replaced them with same model new plugs).

Thanks man! I cant check the other forum while at work (blocked). This is great, now I can order my parts from the same place online.

dsport mag just did a review of the pulstars and they got like 3whp on a type r, 6 whp on a g35 and like 10 on an evo IX. i dont think its worth the $100 but they do show gains. not sure about fuel economy gains though.

I never run 5 range plugs on any SE-R. I don't think its a good idea.

IIRC BKR6E-N or BKR6E-N-11 are stock VVL oem plugs and you can get them at NAPA but they usually have to order them.
