Dead spot in acceleration?
I find especially when the car isn't completly warmed up, that there is a dead spot on my accelleration - like feathering the throttle goes so slow but smooth, anything more chugs to a certain point, then all of a sudden with a tiny bit more gas it kicks up to awesome all the way to redline.

TPS checks out (is .5V ok on a VVL engine?)
MAF voltages are ok
no egr system (VE engine)
New plug wires, plugs (cap, rotor, and universal bosch o2 are on their way)
Timing is at 15* bang on

i have the same issue with mine.. i think its a IACV problem, my gf's G20ve doesnt doit an my friends se-r16ve doesnt do it either, both cars the iacv works, on mine it doesnt work correctly.. an iirc you've had iacv issues as well...

if i let the car warm up for 10-15 mins its fine, but i only work a block away (ya im lazy) so i smoke a cig while i warm her up, when im done i putt to work.. which makes me feel guilty so sometimes when i get off work i hop on the hwy an give her a good run through 2nd

mine does the same thing. ive played with iacv but still have the issues. im leaning toward it being a 02 sensor issue

It does sound very much like an O2 sensor issue.

its one of the thing that i have to replace anyways had the car for years and never replaced it. the reason im leaking towars that is cause my issue happens hot or cold, coolant system is full. played with iacv forever it seems and issue is still there. what do u think it might be?

My guess is the throttle body bypass that we do when we swap in the VE. When the coolant hoses are not connected I had the same cold idle stumble at light throttle & I've swapped 2 VEs & 1 DE with the throttle body coolant lines plugged and each time I've had the same issue. In hot *** Phoenix it rarely stumbles if at all in the summer but in the winter it's more pronounced when temps are 30-40 degrees cooler. Don't think it's an O2 or IACV issue. When the DE had the TB coolant lines connected it never stumbled in the cooler weather, ever. Have had a JWT, SR16, Calum basic & RT in the VEd 94 and still had the issue. Even used the JDM coolant & temp sensors with the SR16 ecu, same result. All in cooler weather.
