No as in internally stock motors motors, since the compression is not that high you can use a hotter heat range spark plug, I tested on my car, many times and I got anywhere from 1-2 whp consistent against the #6 plugs. It's a cheap gain. when you dyno look at the afr.

I swapped my plugs out over the weekend for the BKR5E-11 and the car feels noticeably better

after I finished tunning with my bkr6-I put the bkr5 right there on the dyno..runs where both on a 15min cooling time apart. (I used to own this dyno so I get free time and take my time to do theese type of tests.)

are those irriduium's(BKR6EIX-11 & BKR5EIX-11)..did the 5's work better for you over the 6's..

I went back to 6's, I ran the 5's for short period and pulled them out and the tips looked like things were running too hot.
