Why wouldn't the readings coming out of the oil tree be accurate

Picked up the Greddy unit, it didnt' come with the bung already tapped for my temp sensor which is a bummer but shouldn't be too hard to drill and tap aluminum. Just need to get me some lines and get everything in. Was thinking of placing the cooler just right in front of the radiator for the time being. The adapter I got was the 3/4 something or other for the sandwich plate which appears to be teh wrong one. I think we need M20x1.25 or something which I have the adapter from my Greddy sandwich plate and will just be using that instead.

That seems like a really long run of line to the oil cooler there...

Shouldn't be more than 6 feet if that I imagine. That is the length that the greddy kits come with the for S13 and GDB WRX etc.. if I remember right.

Never did get a chance to install my oil cooler before the Lap Battle this past weekend but I did end up wrapping my header with some DEI Titanium wrap. It was about 50* out at the track so fairly cold but we were racing on the full track so 3.5 miles around so pretty high MPH in comparison to my last track day where we only raced half the track. I didn't watch it very close but the few times I looked over while I was beating on the car non stop for 20 minutes the oil temps only went up to about 240 if that. I would imagine on a hot summer day it would shoot up a bit higher and the oil cooler would be a must but luckily I got by with wrapping the header.
Before where I was able to hit 220* on the street after only 3 back to back 3rd gear pulls it now stays at 200* or so and holds that better.
Going to put the oil cooler in over winter most likely and see how it does at the next track day in spring.
This was just with Mobil1 5w30 full synthetic oil FYI.
