I, personally, just replaced all my dizzy components and did a cam change. Everything is set up correctly. If my CAS was off, OBD II would throw a temper tantrum like a kid being denied a toy at KB Toys.

Nice. At least that is gone. I still and apparently no one else on the boards know why I have the probs that I have with my timing.

my buddys 16ve is like that.. well i havent tried different ecu's but his has been impossible for me to time..even with the usb cable an nissan data scan.. he even has a gspec pulley.. but still cant get the light to work right on his car..

didnt someone say that using the de dizzy with the jdm ecu causes this problem??

That would possibly explain your buddy's 16ve causing you gripes but not me, everything is stock. As I said previously, I checked the crank pulley when I did a cam swap (just like you did by pulling number one spark plug and seeing the piston at TDC and looking at the crank marks.) and it is correct. It is not spun.

I can get my 200sx se-r ecu to work, my G20 ecu to work, but my JWT ECU does not work. JWT claims they do nothing to interfere with it so I am stuck. I have replaced the dizzy cap, rotor, seal, thermostat and coolant temp sensor.

Only two possibilities, both of which have already been mentioned to you. Dirty/defective CAS, or your exhaust cam has somehow jumped a tooth.

Stop focusing on what works/doesn't with other ECU combinations. Focus with what you have installed right now, and only that.

JWT's maps would almost require that you leave base ignition timing at 15*, since that is what their maps are set using.

I am only nit-picking the hell out of this. I only tried the other ECU's once each and went back and have stuck with the JWT ECU. I will try to go into timing mode every few weeks and neve end up moving the dizzy because the idle will not settle correctly. It really does not bother me because I know it is set, currently, at 15* (as per the JWT ECU guidelines).

I used Nissans Consult II unit to go into timing mode, then I used the light gun to set the timing. Then I did the IACV idle hold and adjusted that within range. (It already was in spec) and then I did a function check on the IACV and it checked OK. Once again, more nit-picking and bitching that has no true (mechanical) cause for concern.

It is a gripe, but one annoying one. It is really personally for me to be as obsessed with this. When it comes down to it,I really do not care because I have the JWT ECU and the car runs fantastic right now. I truly should not be bitching when many others have problems left and right.....that is selfish.

HAHA you're not bitching, I've seen this problem often. Matter of factly, Jensen's had the identical issue for some time. I don't know that it was ever resolved, but we'll find out once he gets the bugs worked out of the NX's 4th rebuild.

No worries, that sucks that you guys had the same problem. I don't get it, but I should easily forget it. The car is not a turbo boosting slut or anything super fancy, it is jsut my daily driven go-kart. I like it that way and I have zero problems with it mechanically, a very few electrical and many body and cosmetic problems. I guess of those three, that order is pretty good all things considered.

I am interested to see what happens after the 4th rebuild (yikes) with jensen's NX.
