sr20ve swap questions
so m currently in the middle of a swap from taking my ga16de out of my b14 and putting in the sr20ve my main question is there are five plugs on the ecu harness inside the car and there were only three on the ga16de harness anyone have any idea what those three control?

I can't really remember off the top of my head. What harness for the VE are you using? I don't remember there being 5 for the SR20 harness. IIRC mine plugged right in.

If I were you I would get a SER B14 harness and ECU and have the ECU programmed and you will be fine.

You will will run into a few problems running the SR20VE ECU and harness

Speed limt 109 MPH
Rev limit 7000 RPMs.
cutting and splicing harness

i have the other harness and ecu, but i was figuring the jdm would work better, since i dont have emissions what other problems would i run into?

The problem is the Primera has a CVT tranny which has it's own ecu that's tied into the main ecu. You're gonna have a hard time trying to tie-in the body harness.

edit: like Miko said, you're better off using a B14 SE-R or P10 OBD2 harness and having the ecu programmed.

ya the harnesses are a pain sometimes.. when i got my friend a complete 16ve swap from miko he really wanted me to use the 16ve hrness.. but it just wasnt happenin.. still used the 16ve ecu with no problems tho (other then the speed limit but the rev limit was fne) the car runs outstanding tho.. like it was meant to be..... it even runs better then hi jdm de did.. so smooth.. everyting works right..

so you might be able to use the b14 harness an the primera ecu... but keep the rev/speed limit in mind

you did not have any RPM issues because the rev limit is 8300 on the SR16VE
