SR20VE + SR16VE N1 Cams, Can the cams be degreed?
Good Morning Guys and Girls...

I’m new to the SR20 Forums, I from South Africa and hoping you can assist me.

Can the SR16VE N1 cam’s be degree’d on a Stock SR20VE without slamming the Valves into the pistons?

And if so what is the maximum? I have just bought myself a set of SR16VE N1 cam's and cam gears from GSpec performance and according to all the information I have gathered the best setting is +2 intake and -5 Exhaust with the cheesy SSAC 2.5 header that I am using but I have also seen posts where degree’ing the SR16VE N1 cams in any way on a stock bottom end SR20VE will cause piston to valve contact.

I have searched and found a few threads with members stating that they have degree’d there SR16VE N1 cams on a SR20VE but I just want to make double sure so that I don’t destroy my motor.

Anyway thanks for putting up with the newbie

Cheerz

Thanks Guys... Sorry for being such a newbie just scared, But I have a question what the maximum retard and advance on the SR16VE N1 cams and Sr20VE pistons?

Also what would you suggest I start with when,I install the cam's?

I was thinking 2.5 advance on the intake and 2.5 retard on the exhuast?

I hear 0\0 is the worst for power, Am I wrong?

Thanks again guys, You have allot of people willing to share info on this fourm

I got basically JWT cam gear knock-offs , So can only go up or down in 2.5 degree settings

Anyway here are a few picture of the set-up, To my knowledge Im the only guy in SA using the Nistune system and the Greedy MSS.

Also what AFR's are you guys running?

Im running 14.7 - 15.6 at highway speeds \ light throttal

14.2 - 13.7 Mild load

and 13.3 - 12.9 full load (Thinking of leaning down here)
