VE engine management?

what do you guys use for a sr20ve ecu? do the VE's have their own ecu? or do you use a DE one? how does it work for OBDII vehicles? do you guys use a piggyback or what? thanks in advance for any help!

im just here to learn

what i was thinking though..with emissions and obd2 and all that crap..especially here in NY ..would a jwt ve ecu be able to pass inspection up here? any other NY or VA people have any thought on this?
