Thread: Ordering a JDM SR20VE off ebay pros/cons

Hey dudes, so i just recently blew up my SR20 in my 91 nissan sentra and instead of rebuilding and strapping on a turbo like everyone else, i thought i would take on the SR20VE. Anyone have a Pros and Cons list for an Ebay bought JDM motor? And is this something i should try to find reasonably cheap or spend some cash on? ive seen motors from $699 to $1400

the big con is that you dont know the condition if the engine until you start it up or open it ..

my engine is from ebay

As most people said above. If you can't physically look at the engine before buying then don't buy on ebay. Buy from Andreas Mikos.

JDM Engine corp, $900 shipped to your door. Mine had all acessories and hoses, even the intake hose. Very fast and good delivery, little less than a week.

about 2 weeks to get it shipped to hawaii.

Soko in Cali FTMFW......Ive gotten literally 12 engines from him for customers, myself, and friends. Never one that was not absolutely fresh inside and out.

My buddy peter got his 20ve from them for $750, you cant beat that. Inside and out was perfect. Very very low mileage. It came out to 900 shipped to my house.

Donald from there is awesome and has always hooked me up. He looks at the caller id and knows my name when i call. Im a loyal customer to them and they dont sell crap thats for sure.

They have one of the cheapest prices out there and by far some of the cleanest engines ive ever seen from an importer. One jdm de motor i got from them couldnt have had more than 5k miles on it. It literally looked like it had never even ran for any long period of time. The oil and inside of the engine looked as though it was hot tanked and rebuild. All the bolts, nut, screws, fuel rail still had that shiney anodized look to them. Under the valve cover was perfect with zero scoring or marks on any of the cam lobes.
