If the cam timing wasn't out on the gears or cams then more tuning work could of been done.

The cams were about 10hp off my favorite +3,-2 n1 setting All through the midrange and only got a extra 4hp after the run was extended 500rpm more

Basically for simplicity n1 cams, Nissan engineers must of spent some time on then back in the day!!!

Hi Turbofied. Were these the Franklin 20V/N1's? When you say the timing was off on the cams and gears do you mean the cam dowles were out making 0 degrees not actually zero with respect to stock cams?
What was your best result? -10+4 = 6hp less than the genuine N1's?
What rev limit did you tune to and what valve clearances were you using?
PM me if you want. It would be great to see some graphs from the dyno! Cheers

I saw the thread was about stock 20v and N1 combo's but it just seemed like turbofied was talking about aftermarket cams as he mentioned the cam timing was out?

just got mine dynoed again - result is 130kw with the 20v/n1's.... cams kick in at 6300, note this may be due to the custom intake.. not sure though

I have the franklin Hybrid Low20v & High N1 and VVL is best when actived at 6300 as well. I have a stock intake manifold. I dynoed at 175HP 131TQ on the Dynojet, but with a untuned JWT ECU. I'll post Dyno results later.
