I couldn't really justify the money to marry a VE with an auto either. Sure the CVT is nice to drive and smooth etc until it breaks but the benefit of a VE is the flat torque output over a wide rev range so unless you have a manual gearbox you're not going to get the goods. I'd say get it going however you decide and you can always convert to manual later.

i have a feeling im gonna get yelled at when i say this but its just my beater car, i cant justify spending an extra grand on it

I say call Andreas Miko and talk to him about your set up so you get all the right parts to make it run. Or you may end up spending that grand anyway to get it to run.

the beautiful part is i have a receipt that says 3500 for the swap and ecu and tranny to all be done in writing...so if they charge me anymore then they have a problem
