b13 sr16ve swap
hi guys,

i am in the midst of building a race car to compete in local races and i've manage to get myself 2 sr16ve halfcut's one from a pulsar and the other is a b15 which is quite rare here. which one of these would fit the b13 better or are they identical? the b15 is in perfect condition but i am not sure if it'll fit without any mounting mods and also if the driveshaft fits. could anyone give me some advice cos these type of engines dont stay available so i have to make a decision on which to pick and wht to anticipate in this swap.

cheers

I would go with a sr20ve if your starting with a b13 se-r more bang for cheaper.. Then get your self a nistune ecu an the rest of the goodies..

most of the sr20ve we have here are found in the primera halfcuts, and are auto, would a manual tranny bolt on if i were to go this route and wht about the wiring ?

to wht i have heard the sr16ve needs mounting mods , how true this is i am not sure , does anyone know ?

as far as I can tell sr20ve's mount right up b13 se-r's. You can use the b13 tranny.

SR20VE and SR16VE is physically same engine. Wiring will be same too - stock B13 wiring + Nistune ECU (or other).

Since they both have the trans just pick the one with lower miles. You will have to change the motor mount on the drivers side (since I doubt ur here in the US). Then the motor will bolt up to your B13 mounts.

you mean change the mount on the timing chain side? so wht mount do i use to get this to fit cos the stock b13 came with a ga16 sodo i use this mount?as for the transmission side i noticed on the b15 hcut that its totally diferent, the transmission mount is on top ,not sure about the vzr hcut.to wht i can see b13's transmission mount is a little different.
in a way i doubt the b15 halfcut could fit , unless someone can confirm this, so would taking the vzr halfcut be a better choice , would it fit ?

There is a GA to SR swap guide on the sight. That's for people going from the GA to SR. It will tell you what parts u can reuse. I thought u already had a SR20DE in your B13 like many of us do lol my bad.

B15 SR16VE has a 6 speed so you will have to look into what can be used there too.
