^^^Actually I tested that on my Altima with a VAFC at Idle I did a +20 correction at Idle and the timing on the Consult lowered from 17 to 8 deg then I read it on the MAXIMA.ORG then it made sense to me maybe on small ammounts of correction doest affect so much. But it changes that why I always tune on the map trying to avoid SAFC but always the job gets done its good there it a lot of ways to use the SAFC I am sure you know it ......

And from zero correction to +20 correction was the rpm idle the same? Some years ago when I first started with the vvl n/a I was dynoing and I noticed the Ecu I was running at the time was very rich so alot of correction had to be done but at the same time I had to add timing through the dist. To the point that I pegged it. So the next thing I did was lower the fuel pressure and made less correction through the afc, and as I was giving less correction I was backing off the timing also so the dist was no longer pegged,
at the end of the day I came out with 201 whp, with very little correction on the afc, but when I had all the correction I was stuck at 196-197 whp.
This is how I came to the conclusion.

my corrections are not that high like a -20, i think the lower point is at -7 or -9 on high rpms at low rpms the points are -2 or -1. I dont really remember i have to check them out.

So that means that right now i am advanced in timing because my corrections are negative??

I cant tell for sure.. if it adevances or retarded but it changes the timing you should do a Datalog with the consult to verify the timing the motor its getting asuming your base timing its set correctly at the timing specified on the map....

I made the corrections on the 1000rpm point my Car Idles at 700-750 and with a correction of +20 the AFR's changed and the timing got retarded by 11deg. I think its better if you do like small corrections on the SAFC and lower the FP to acheive a taget AFR's to avoid big corrections if the map its very off......

UPDATE: Dyno charts are from 2/9/2011
Mod list:
Stock internal SR20VE
SR16VE Tranny
PVC Intake
Tri-Y Modded for SR20 Header
2.5 Exhaust pipe with Cut Out
GSPEC Crank Pulley
Alfsentra ECU Tune
APEX 1 VAFC

all i have done so far since the start of this post was just installing the header and lots of miles to this engine since is my DD car. For me i'm happy with the results and i think the graph shape talk by itself... lets show them!

My feelings on the car are impressive since the last tune in may 2010 as you can see i set the cams at a target where i cant even feel the switchover and the bump in the graph cant be seen also. And like i said i only changed the header that gave me a difference of 6whp and 5ftTQ over the SSAC 2.5 header. My next plans are SR16 cams, 3" exhaust and a light flywheel. Any recommendation is welcome as always!

With the cams and tuning you will see 190 or more

Springs and retainers, n1s straight up, light wieght flywheel, full 3inch exhaust.

Ull get close to that 200who goal.
