Thread: N1 head on a SR20VE

Hey guy's just wondering if anyone knows the combustion chamber capacity of N1 head compared to the std P11 VE head?? I have a N1 motor that I can pull the head and measure but was wondering if anyone knew.
My plan is to see if the N1 head will go on the SR20VE bottomend with N1 pistons in it. Looking to test the performance of the N1 head to a mild SR20VE head.

Sorry if this has been asked before but searched the first 20 pages and couldn't see it.

As far as anyone is aware, the N1 head is pretty much the same, just different cams and intake. There are a couple of N1 engines here in NZ, both have had 2l bottom ends put on them, and they are nothing special. A stock 2.0ve with 16ve cams makes about the same power. N1 cams in a ported head do work well tho, but still not amazing.

N1 head is shaved so it does have a smaller combustion chamer. N1 head is ported. N1 head has intake valves that are thinner stems down in the port.

the n1 head wil go on thesr20ve bottom end no problem, as far as i know its just a simple head swap

Make sure you notch the N1 pistons for oil squirters before you install them in the 20ve block.

But why? If you don't notch them you get modified rod squirters for free!

sorry for changing the subject. but if the sr16ve n1 head/valves etc is almost similar to the standard sr20ve. so that means we can put n1/sr16ve pistons with out the top of the piston being mill? has any literally done a compression check? not just trowing numbers from the top of there heads?

A simple search would yield your answers, instead of posting your question in two threads that have nothing to do with the subject.

some one in Europe has done sr20ve bottom n1 top with n1 pistons. they pegged the compression guage at over 350. yes it can be done but don't expect to get max hp on pump gas. he also reported having issues with pinging in the lower rpms.

wow this is y nissan enthusiast have problem then quit because people like u. if i was a honda/mitsu/ford enthusiast in there forum they would help and tell experience and not be stupid.
