Trouble getting into 2nd/high rpm
How many of you find it hard to get into 2nd above 8k? Even shifting slow and easy still has problems, just not as bad. This has happened with a b13 tranny, b14, and 16ve.

It never happened when I had the de, I assume cause I was shifting at 7500. Just curious how many off you have this problem? I'm definitely getting a new clutch cable to see if it helps any though, needs to be replaced anyway.

sound like a synchro. Did you try changing the gear oil?

wrong gear oil most likely. Try synchromesh? you just gotta be careful running the stuff. I shifted to 2nd by accident going 100mph and it slid right in. Felt funny, so I didn't let the clutch out. I couldn't believe it. Running that stuff makes gear shifts so easy it can be a little scary.

Just gotta pay attention.

mine suprisingly shifts fine in higher rpms, as long as the wheels arent broke loose..

i'm having the same issue sometimes it goes straight in and sometimes don't. i'm using mobil1 synthetic oil on my sr16 tranny but i think my issue is the clutch cable...

Should be clutch cable / adjustment

My car occassionally does this. I think its a combo of low gear oil and a cable adjustment. I try and keep the cable adjusted to where it grabs near the top of the pedal which usually helps.

Yeah mine sometimes has trouble over 8k. I always just blamed the syncros not being able to keep up w that much rpm. But now I think its mostly cable adjustment. Esp when its to tight
