I don't know why my cellphone didn't pick up the cam switching but in person it was easily noticeable. In fact it was very noticeable. It seems the intake cam isn't too noticeable, sometimes I think its not switching.

Maybe it is not switching then

Is a pretty common issue that the intake solenoid gets oil through the seal, thus the oil get in the way causing a non proper connection, I have the same issue as many other around, I just take the plug every one in a while and clean it up

ya the solenoid plugs that came with my engine were toast, the wires got ripped out an i stuffed them back in an i think the intake solenoid would only sometimes work.. i replaced both plugs with some from a spare harness an vvl has worked great every since..

not sayin you need to do the same, but when i went to do dyno i got 150whp an 135tq or somethin like that which is why i started investigating

I think you can use solenoids from the 1.8 engine to replace VVL solenoids. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

IIRC just the intake that is more likely the one with issues so Yes

I'll look into the solenoid issue this weekend. I am definitely expecting higher numbers than these on my setup. Unfortunately, i can't mess around with switch points much because then my air/fuel ratios will get screwed up and i dont have the software and cable to make adjustments on my own. If the intake cam wasn't working wouldn't i make less power than i made? I am also gonna change the O2 sensor and check the voltage on the MAF and change it if the voltage is too low.

Glad to hear you are making good progress with the car. Mine is just sitting in the driveway and needs some attention. Can you either link me to the how to or explain to me the proper way to wire the iacv with the b15 harness? I plan on swapping a B14 harness in, but want to do this in the meantime to get my car to idle and run better. The help would be much appreciated!

Thanks. Check the how to section for sr20ve. I posted the posting originally by zerosin. It also has a spreadsheet by vadim. Vadim also has another how to somewhere on here.
