just got a reply from Xcessive Manufacturing from a bloke named rich

I'm not familiar with the the SR20V, if you have a pic of your head or intake ports, it may help me know what the difference is. We can make you an intake flange if I have a head, gasket or stock intake to measure. Usually the stock intake is best so I can measure the injectors as well.

im just going to send him this

Why can't you use the one you machined down?

Looking at the Xcessive billet flange, it looks like it would work just fine with 20v head, the ports on the X flange are oval for the most part .

ive over laid my SR20V flange ontop of a SR20ve cylinder head and the flange plate is different

gaskets between SR20ve and SR20v are different which means flanges are also different

I know the port angle is different on the 20V but, if your just looking for flange with 90 degree ports then the X flange should be ok. I prefer a flange that follows the angle of the port and not just a flat plate where the air has to make a sharp turn down as it enters the head. When the flange follows the angle of port the runner section closest to the head will have to have the same angle .

This is the flange I'm using on my KA24DET, notice how the flange follows the port angle on the head.

I'm talking to a guy that's willing to make me a one off flange like the one above for a decent price. Lets see what he means by decent because I have tried talking to other shops and the prices they have given me are rediculous for one off pieces.

we built a sr20ve cylinder head for a customer and we match ported his mazworx inlet manifold for him
while we had the inlet manifold i thought i would try it on my sr20v and the flange is different
its not just the ports its the flange which didnt fit

also on the note about port angle of the flange and runners
i cant angle my ports
my sr20v is going into a rear wheel drive car and im limited for bonnet clearance if i angled my plenum up like the one that u posted a picture of my bonnet wouldnt clear my plenum camber

There is a difference between the X and Mazworx flange, the Mazworx flange has the same shape as the whole port on the standard VE head, the X flange is just oval. I forgot that you have a RWD project so you won't be able to angle you runners too much.
