So last night I finnally got to taking the Head off the car.

Everything looks good, no bent or burnt valves. The only problem found has the crappy head gasket been a little burnt between cylinders 2-3. The oil had some water in it so I’m going to send the head today for a Mag particle inspect, and a complete clean up and resurface if necessary. I am thinking of doing a 3- angle valve job but I haven’t seen anyone else try it with a VE.

So I took the head to the machine shop, I had it cleaned resurfaced, valve job along with new seals, $300 all said and done.

The guy ordered seals for the regular DE, are they the same???

I also got a new VET metal head gasket along with a new exhaust gasket.

So there was some water in the oil, does anyone know how to properly get rid of all that nasty stuff?

The machine shop guy suggested to drain the current oil, put in some cheap oil, run it and then change it again and pour in my regular oil along with new filter.

Hey guys what's the liklihood of the block surface being warped? I have a similar problem With my VE and I changed the head gasket only for it to damage another head gasket less than 2 days later.... They skimmed the head before reinstalling btw.

300.00 for the machine work is a really decent price

Dont you have to resurface your block as well to ensure 100% that the metal head gasket will seal properly? I'd rathr use a stock 20VE non 20V headgasket

The car is up and running I had an issue with the cam timing, I counted 20 links but including the outside ones wich advanced my intake cam.. horrible idle

I just moved the cam back, counted 20 links and the car started right up!!! All I did was clean up the block, installed the metal headgasket, and sent got the Head job done.
