Limits of stock VE rods
I'm curious to know if anyone has found the limit of the stock VE rods? At what hp or rpm should you start looking at upgrading to some aftermarket rods?

My motor is open at the moment and I am thinking about changing to some eagles (there was another "new" rod that people were talking about a while ago that seemed good as well, but I can't find it now when I searched)

This is a built motor and revs 9krpm daily.

same as DE rods.

I say good for a solid reliable 400 WHP.

Good for a solid 120 shot of NOSssssss at 4000 RPMs or a progresive setup starting at 100 shot moving up 20 shot at every 1000 RPM increase.

Now when you have Manley and Eagle rods selling for $320 I would just up grade.

that's what I'm thinking. I'm more worried about the rods "stretching" at high rpm and I guess the weight saving of the eagles can't be ignored.

Go with the manley's the are lighter than the eagles. I started I thread a while back that a few people contributed to listing the weights of a whole heap of aftermarket rods

Obviously being NA I'm not gonna go close to the 400whp limit of the stock rods, but will they be safe at +/-220whp if revved to 9k or 9.5k consistantly?

Clints primera with the 20ve w/ kelfords had 20ve rods and new nissan rods bolts and he did many a track day revving that to 9k, i'd say you'd be fine based on that. i'd stikll probably want some uprated fastners though.
