yes you can.

Seat pressure increases close to 90lbs

On the nose close to 180 odd.

three options using factory parts!

Shim the base of the standard 16/20VE double springs. This will increase your seat pressure and let you be safer on N1's.

Second option is to use 16/20VE inner spring with 20V outer spring.

Third is the same as above but shimmed at the base. This is really not needed as any cam that needs this sort of ramp rate would be pushing the max lift capacity of the springs, be chewing HP and you would need to swtich to a conical spring for better effectiveness. Maybe if you were runnign quads and went for stupid duration but N1 levels of lift this would be ideal.

I just bought N1 cams. Will limit the revs to 8500 rpm. Using stock SR20VE springs & retainers.

How thin the shim should be?

we are only talking up to half a MM or maybe a tad higher if your brave.

Based on how much you machine the seat you will need to calculate it.

When I get my N1 as soon as Greg gets them in. I will be running n1/sr20ve stock valve springs and retainers!
